graphic Design Internship

iaminterchange - bozeman, mt (01/14/25 - 05/09/25)

I Am Interchange immerses you in the world of adventure journalism, where they fearlessly explore the monumental global changes, inequalities, and urgent issues surrounding the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through raw, unfiltered storytelling in podcasts, guests discuss urgent matters from a wide range of subjects that impact us and our world.

During my graphic design internship here, I developed a pitch deck and social media campaign to help better communicate the ideals and goals that I Am Interchange has. The other parts of my time at this internship involved helping lay out art pieces in the organziation’s building to better suite the environment.

My Anchor Project

Interchange pitch deck

This pitch deck is used to send to summits around the globe so that the Interchange/Hatch podcast can come talk about important issues our world faces. I took the organization’s old pitch deck and simplified it into 7 slides from its original 13. I had a lot of control over this project in the design sphere and I got to create the layouts and how the organization displays its pitch and social media. A lot of the creation for this project involved using Illustrator to make the hexagon picture layouts. The titles and type were then added in google slides. This project taught me the importance of having strong hierarchy and equal margins when wanting to pitch something professionally to world-wide recognized events.

Social Media campaign

The social media posts had a lot of inspiration from the pitch deck design. For this campaign, I had created 10 posts; making some for highlights of guests featured on podcasts, an upcoming 100th episode post, a word-map of inspirational descriptor words, and even some posts that are summarizing the pitch deck for the organization’s audience to help them better understand us. I used Illustrator for all of the design and then took the featured guest posts and put them into Premiere Pro to add captions of inspirational quotes they had said during the podcast. This project has taught me how to create engaging posts that can be taken seriously and also adhere to a standard of design that will look pleasing on an Instagram feed.
